Video shows why you shouldn't drive like an idiot on mountain roads.

Driving in the mountains can be one of the most awesome experiences on any road trip. The epic views and opportunities for Instagram fun are seemingly infinite. With every turn of the road, there’s another sight to take your breath away, another landscape you’ll save to the USB stick in your own mind. Seriously, once you’ve driven in the mountains, driving on the M25 is just…well…it’s just boring (more boring than it normally is).

But, of course, driving in the mountains isn’t without its dangers. The roads curl and weave, threading themselves up and down the slopes like wayward bits of tarmac spaghetti. And if you don’t keep your wits sharp and your eyes on the road, there’s hundreds of potential hazards just waiting to spoil all of your mountain-based fun.

The BMV driver, featured in this video (see below), appears to have let his sharp wits go a bit blunt because he clearly approaches the narrow mountain turn more recklessly than perhaps he should. He briefly regains control, before veering suddenly into the muddy cliff face that runs alongside the road.

The footage was captured and uploaded by ‘RNickeyMouse’. According to the video description on YouTube, the driver who was uninjured in the incident claims to have slid on water. We’ve donned our detective hats and watched the clip at least three times and have yet to see any evidence of water on the surface of the road. Hmmmmm.

So, in conclusion, what have we learnt from this? Well, obviously, we’ve learnt that even in good conditions its not a great idea to treat mountain roads like a Need For Speed level. That’s the main thing, to be honest. Be careful. Just, be careful. You’re not Vin Diesel. No matter how much you wish you were, you’re not Vin Diesel.
