8 Of The Best Climbing Profiles To Follow On Instagram
Just because you're at home on the sofa, doesn't mean you can't also be climbing in Yosemite....
While all action sports profiles are pretty impressive to follow, climbers photographs tend to be among the most impressive.
From reaching the top of some of the amazing landscapes on the planet, to exploring routes that no one has tried before, the photos that climbers are able to take are among some of the most incredible in the adventure sports world.
Check out these eight badass climbers, who range from inspirational athletes, to climbing icons, to new relatively unknown faces to watch out for!
After all, when you can't be up a mountain, its good to surround yourself with the people who are!
Spontaneous days back in Oliana. Surprisingly good conditions and super good vibes with @kbecan25 @kecuca @_felipecamargo_ so pleasant to be back in such a familiar place. This route "joe Mama 9a+" gave me my fair share of beat downs last season. At first a route that I underestimated, it turned into an epic battle that got the best of me. So refreshing to come back this season with an open mind and no expectations other than to just enjoy climbing. Maybe it was in my head or maybe it was all the training with @patxiusobiaga_pucseries last summer
Chris Sharma is seen by many as the best rock climber in the world, who discovered climbing by walking into a random rock climbing centre aged 12.
The Californian spends his life discovering and climbing singular, aesthetic and seemingly impossible routes and his profile tracks his adventures.
Chris constantly pushes forward with his climbing, finding and trailblazing new routes. Such a great profile to inspire new climbers and show how amazing rock climbing can be.
Climber, base jumper and wingsuit flyer, Steph Davis is one super rad human being!
If you want to get to grips with the emotions behind dangerous action sports, Davis is the person to ask. After her husband's tragic death while base jumping, she talks openly about the decision to carry on with the sport and how it has changed her relationship with the sport.
One of the greatest Instagrams to share the joy of life and doing what you love!
@ariintheair takes a breather on a fun little high line in Joshua Tree National Park, CA this week. We road tripped and had some adventures for @marmot all across Southern California. Now I'm tired, sunburned, dehydrated and super psyched we came away with some awesome shots with a rad crew. #lt11 @louderthan11 @colterjh @sierralerback @ashbax808 @zachdoleac @kadoubles
While this isn't a personal climbing profile, Jon Glassberg's climbing photography is an amazing way to get an insight into how it feels to be climbing rocks on an elite level.
His company Louder Than 11 takes amazing photography of not only climbers, but all types of adventure atheletes and more.
This photo of a climber in Southern California shows how it feels to be roadtripping and climbing with a rad crew. We love it!
"Climbing, traveling and ultimately, more climbing lead to injury and a need to keep myself immersed in this creative loop spawned the camera. I knew that I wanted to look back at everything I had done and relive those experiences."
This quote from Alex Manelis sums up how this Instagram profile makes you feel. Alex takes the creative aspects of climbing and manages to capture them through his work.
Away from the technical aspects of climbing, this profile manages to express the artistic beauty of movement and sport.
Climbed my way out of molten lava on a classic, New Wave Hooker 12c yesterday in my backyard crag. Moments after Ray snapped this pic I got to crawl through his legs to the anchor. It was a real treat. One perfect day with two perfect people @allicday @rayanythingg . . . . . @evolvusa @petzl_official @prana #climbing #climbing_pictures_of_instagram #climb #sportclimbing #adventure #adventureawaits #getoutside #explore #travel #travelstoke #adventureoften

Kati Began climbing at 13 in a small local gym outside of Richmond, Va and spent her entire school life climbing competitively, before in 2011 she entered her first professional competition.
Now she works as an athlete trainer, taking other climbers and making them great and her photos show that. Her profile is a great mix of training photos and technical shots, as well as some great photos of the landscapes and mountains she climbs.
Give her a follow and keep up to date with all of her competitions and adventures!
This woman is so inspiring.
Alyse had been climbing for 15 years before she fell off a cliff during her first month of college and was paralyzed from the waist down for 6 months.
Despite being confined to a wheelchair, she defied her doctors and re-learned to walk, and then to climb, now she's heading back to the top of her game.
We love following Alyse and seeing her take on bigger and bigger challenges. When we feel like we can't be bothered to hit the climbing centre or go out for a run, its good to be reminded how much we take those things for granted!
Who's heard of Lonnie Kauk?
Most climbers know the name Ron Kauk, a fairly renowned person in climbing history, less people however know his son Lonnie.
Lonnie is a great boulderer who spends his time establishing and repeating many of the hard lines in the Sierra. His Instagram is a mix of nature photography, great climbing photos and also retro photographs from his dad's days of climbing in Yosemite.
As always, it was an exciting weekend in Portland, Oregon for the annual Portland Boulder Rally. Good vibes from one of the most down to earth climbing communities on the planet. I've been dedicating some time to keeping my plastic skills on point and it was nice to see some of that work pay off. I only wish I had seen the easier beta on the final boulder to secure the victory, but sometimes that's how it goes. Congrats to the winners and all the finalists for putting on a great show! Already stoked for next year! Photo by @richcrowder. @blackdiamond @fiveten_official @skratchlabs
Carlo Traversi is one of the strongest climbers in the world.
The great thing about his profile is that it shows how much he loves Yosemite Valley, the photos are as much about the space around him as they are about his own climbing.
Carlo embodies the modern bouldering ideal. After opening his own centre, he's now the head setter at one of Americas finest bouldering gyms. An amazingly exciting climber to follow!
