"My fiancé was there supporting me. He went to three different points so I counted the miles until I’d see him next."

"I thought about everyone who was supporting me and who would be proud of me. This was my first marathon and it made all the training worth it."

"I had a rough patch at around mile 21 but I thought, 'There’s only five miles left, don’t stop – just try and run!"
