What Happens When You Cross A Jacuzzi With A Speedboat? Something Pretty Incredible...
Is this the ultimate party boat?
Meet the Hot Tug, the world's first ever drivable boat and hot tub.
The idea behind this invention basically takes a wood burning jacuzzi and makes it float, before adding an electric motor on the back, to transform it into a drivable private boat. You and your mates can float down a river, without ever going anywhere near the water.
If you're looking for history's most unnecessary gadget, you can rest easy. We've found it.
Yep, just incase you didn't want to go swimming or go for a jacuzzi, but you do fancy doing something in the middle, this company has made that possible.
Created by a Dutch inventor a few years ago, the HotTug is now available to rent and for sale in the U.S.
The stainless steel, wood-burning stove can heat 480 gallons of water in less than three hours. Made from chestnut wood and fitted with glass-fibre-reinforced polyester, it prides itself on going against traditional nautical style.
“It’s much more than a boat, it’s a vessel with different options," says inventor Frank de Bruyn.
"When the tug is filled, there is only a narrow rim between you and the water, making you feel at one with your surroundings."
If you do fancy renting one of these for a party, they're now available both in the Netherlands and in various parts of the States. Or you could just jump in the river like in the good ol' days...
