Hot Wheels Adventure: This Tiny Toy Car's Seriously Epic Road Trip Video Has Gone Viral
From California to Colorado - via roads, back gardens, a swimming pool, and "teleporting tunnels."
Here at Mpora, we love a road trip. Like we actually, properly, love them. In the past, we've written about the 10 best road trips for surfers, the 10 best road trips for skiers and snowboarders, and even gone so far as to list the 10 most spectacular road trips on earth. But we've never, ever in our lives, written about the best ever road trip taken by a Hot Wheels toy car. Until now, that is.
This Hot Wheels road trip video, which has rather unimaginatively gone with the title 'Hot Wheels Road Trip', takes the car to eight different track sections via "teleporting tunnels." At the time of writing, it's been viewed on YouTube well over a million times. And while we're reluctant to overhype some POV footage of a toy car rolling down some track too much, because that would be silly, this really is a surprisingly epic viewing experience.
Over the water, under the water, enormous (by toy car standards) jumps, loop-the-loops, and so much more; the little car that could does it all. Each section works perfectly from tunnel to tunnel, with the car powered by nothing except gravity. The video required 200ft of track parts, all of which can be seen in the monumental fourth section. Location-wise, it was filmed in both California and Colorado.
As revealed in the YouTube description, the hardest segment of the project to shoot was the underwater section. Keeping the track connected and fixed in place proved problematic, and as an issue it required the placement of a heavy rock at one end of the course to solve it. But enough about the logistics of it, it's time to sit back and enjoy it. Vroom-Vroom. TOY CAR ROAD TRIP.
