Chris Froome is one of the most recognisable men in the world of British cycling – but will he be representing Team GB this year in road cycling at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games? The answer is yes.
Chris Froome will be competing in both the road race and the time trial at the Rio Olympics, but we’ll get to more on that in a minute.

- London 2012: Bronze Medal, Time Trial
Chris Froome has competed in the Olympics before of course, at the 2012 London Games, where he managed to take bronze in the time trial, behind Sir Bradley Wiggins who would go on to become the first Brit to take the gold in the discipline.

Froome also competed in the road race that year, as part of the team aiming to help Mark Cavendish go for gold alongside Ian Stannard and Wiggins, but as other teams conspired against Cavendish and team GB, it was an unsuccessful attempt.
