Bike thieves are vermin. Scum. Rotters. They’re absolute boxes of eight-day-old shit. We just don’t like them. So, we love the idea of somebody turning the tables on would-be bike thieves. And yet…
We can’t quite put our finger on it, but there’s something about this video that doesn’t quite sit right with us. It feels like it’s not so much embarrassing thieves, as lambasting the poor, and that’s not cool. Clumsily throwing around phrases like “the hood” is just shitty. It’s just a cheap holiday in someone else’s misery.
Poor people don’t steal bikes, scum bags do. It’s a sad state of affairs when that has to be said, isn’t it.
