Ice Walls and Powder Pillows | Sean Pettit’s Latest Full Part is a Must Watch For Every Ski Lover

...this perfect part is so beautiful it's basically art

A lot of athletes out there seem to come from nowhere. They drop from the sky, and then bam, take the world by storm.

One day you’ve never heard their name, next moment you’re watching them storm more rooftops than old Saint Nick and pin tricks more technical than the small print on that competition you entered to win 16 Nectar points and a Twix.

Skiing sensation Sean Pettit does not fit into that category. The Canadian 23-year-old has been a professional pretty much all of his life. He started skiing at pro level aged 11, picking up backers like K2 and Oakley, and these days he’s one of the best skiers around.

So, what does a professional career spanning twelve years – for eight of which he couldn’t legally drink a beer in British Columbia – look like when it’s caught on camera? It looks out of this world.

Pettit’s dropped his latest footage, his full part from Super Proof’s 2015 ‘The Masquerade’, below, and it’s one of the most jaw-dropping things we’ve seen in some time.

The use of Elton John’s ‘Rocketman’ in the soundtrack may seem odd at first, but it’s the perfect touch for a part that seems like it could’ve been filmed in outer space.

Given that the only time we normally hear ‘Rocketman’ is at 4am on a Saturday night though, being echoed around a piano bar by a bunch of drunks who have borrowed a little too much happiness from the following day, there’s probably a bit of a juxtaposition there which is adding some elegance to our viewing.

And if we do ever stumble into Sean while we’ll in said piano bar, hell, the first round is on us… if not for the double corks then for those crazy-ass cliff drops and the techy ice-wall madness.
