When The World Number Two Surfer Got Caught Up In Her Own Leash, Things Could Have Ended Very Badly…

Watching this pro get it wrong will make you feel much better about your own attempts at surfing

Surfing’s hard. Yes, it’s also amazing, and cathartic, and all those good things, but surfing’s hard. Most people never really become good, just marginally less rubbish.

But fear not. If you spend more time drowning than actually surfing, then we have encouraging news. Even the pro’s get it wrong. Sometimes, really wrong.

This footage is of Aussie surfer and world number two, Tyler Wright. Surfing at her home beach, at the Australian Boardriders Battle, washed up on rocks.

With her board leashed to her still, she got tangled and tried to free herself in what looks like a scene from the Australian Chuckle Brothers.

We’re happy to report, Tyler is fine after this collision. She went to hospital for a precautionary check up and was given the all clear by docs.
