Dashboard Camera Catches Van Driver and Cyclist Having Fist Fight on UK Road

"You're a f*%!ing asshole!" - this footage is insanely surreal

“If you’re driving on the M62, there is a lane closed towards Rochdale,” says the radio in the build up to this epic rumble on the roads between a van driver and a cyclist. It really is one of the most surreal videos you’ll see.

Shortly after, the van driver, who captured all of the shenanigans on his dashboard camera, begins yelling out his window at a cyclist supposedly trying and failing to overtake.

The cyclist is out of shot at this point and only parts of the conversation are audible, but our best bet is that the two weren’t discussing what they were going to watch on Netflix the following Saturday

Swear words are spoken and the updates about the lane near Rochdale are all but blocked out by the driver’s cursing – “you’re a f*cking asshole”, he yells, as the public watch on wondering if they’ll ever learn the fate of that lane off the M62.

The cyclist then appears to yell “are you going to get out then?” to which the driver duly accepts “I f*cking will”, and sets about it.

All goes quiet as the two go off-camera and the radio begins to tell us about an 11-year-old involved in a local swimming competition.

All goes quiet as the two go off-camera and the radio begins to tell us about an 11-year-old involved in a local swimming competition, obviously.

The on-air presenter then wonderfully moves on to list some epic sporting achievements; “Murray winning at Wimbledon, England in ’66, United in 1999, watching our Dylan play rugby, and from a personal point of view, playing for Berry, for the reserves for a season.”

All the while these great sporting moments flash before our eyes, the cyclist and the van driver punch it out right in front of the camera, creating another moment of sporting history themselves.

To say it’s a video with perfect audio-visual contrast is surely an understatement. At one point ‘I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) by Aretha Franklin blares out on the soundtrack. It’s absolutely brilliant…

A car soon piles over to see what’s going on off-camera, another cyclist joins in and a curious woman walks over as well.

It’s hard not to laugh as the radio presenter asks us to ring in and tell him our favourite sporting moment. So hard. So just don’t fight it; laugh out loud… and let the ever-persistent van driver and cyclist do the fighting instead.
