Fans of the Sunshine Village ski resort got more than they bargained for when it’s Facebook page was hacked

A ski resort in Canada has had it’s facebook page hacked and filled with smutty clickbait articles.

Sunshine Village in Banff, Alberta is thought to have been the victim of hackers in India, who filled the resort’s social media page with articles titled things like ‘5 Weird Things That Make People Horny’ and ‘When Couples Shower Together (10 Pics)’.

The site, that’s usually full of pictures of powder turns, native wildlife, and close ups of ski lift mechanisms, all of a sudden found itself clogged up with all manner of borderline pornography.

You’d think that most people would see the page and assume it’s the result of outside hacking as opposed to a bizarre new strategy aimed solely at getting teenage boys interesting in skiing. However, the page saw people clicking ‘Unlike’ in their droves.

While waiting for Facebook to regain control of their page, the good folk at Sunshine Village took to Instagram and Twitter to help reassure fans that they’d been hacked, and they weren’t really promoting ’15 People Who Majorly Failed At Being Sexy’.

Happily, after a small wait, the page has been restored, and they keys handed back to the fine folk at the Sunshine Village resort.
