Would You Pay £200 To Stay In This Alpine ‘Hotel’ With No Walls And No Ceiling?

It does come with it's own butler....

If you explore 6,463 feet above sea level in the beautiful Swiss Alps today, you’re in for a big surprise.

Sat in the mountains is a hotel with the best decor on the planet.

Brothers Patrick and Franc Riklin decided to build a hotel in the alps, but did not want to design any usual Premier Inn rip off, or country chalet.

Instead, they came up with the idea of building a hotel that really celebrated the landscape it’s built in, by removing all of its walls.

The brothers, who have previously created hotels in bunkers and other eccentric spots, worked with a construction crew to flatten a patch of land in the mountains, on which to create their accommodation.

“We put the guest at the centre of the experience”

Building the room, they added a queen bed, bedside tables and lamps, as well a bathroom that is hidden away, as to not obstruct any of the view.

‘We got rid of all the walls, so nothing can come between you and your experience,’ say the brothers.

‘Even though this version is radically different from the first one in the nuclear bunker, the essence and the spirit of the concept remains the same.”

“We put the guest at the centre of the experience and to focus on the intangible by reducing everything else to the minimum.”

The hotel’s room service is provided in the form of a personal butler who stays a few minutes away in a cabin.

Cooking meals for all guests, he delivers all food to guests in their rooms, and is available around the clock for any other room service that guests may require.

While we love the idea of sleeping under the stars, right in the middle of the sublime wilderness of the alps, we do wonder what guests do about other passing ramblers, or the odd curious mountain goat.

One thing you don’t have to worry about however is getting rained on, as the hotel accepts all late cancellations, in the case of bad weather.

This has to be the ultimate hotel for mountain lovers.

We’re putting our bivvy bags away on our next camping trip and staying under the stars at the swankiest hotel in the world without walls!
