Philipp Grein Has Won The Internet With These Stunning Wildlife Watercolours

This is what your local zoo looks like...after you've ingested LSD.

Art? Art! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaart. Whichever way you say it, it always goes down smooth. One man who shares our passion for art, especially art that relates in someway to action, adventure, and/or animals, is artist Philipp Grein.

Let’s cut to the chase, Philipp Grein is not Sir Philip Green. Philipp Grein is a man who paints really nice watercolours of all your favourite animals. Sir Philip Green, on the other hand, is the shit-bag that owns Topshop, Topman, and Miss Selfridge. He is regularly accused of big-scale tax avoidance and, as far as we know, has never painted a panda in his life.

I think we can all agree that painting animals, in the ways that Philipp Grein does, is cool. Working tax loopholes, and siphoning large sums of money away from public services is considerably less cool. Just so we’re clear, we’re not accusing Philipp Grein of any wrongdoing here.

So what conclusions can we draw from all of this? Firstly, that I’m someone easily sidetracked by the subject of tax avoidance. Secondly, and arguably more interestingly, that Philipp Grein is someone really good at painting animals in a unique and compelling style (see below).

We like Philipp Grein, we don’t like Sir Philip Green.
