Travis Pastrana Just Tried A Moto Double Backflip For The First Time In Four Years. It Definitely Did Not Go To Plan…

This is what happens when a motocross legend slightly over-rotates a double... Ouch!

Travis Pastrana is an absolute boss. He’s a legend of motocross, a daredevil innovator unmatched by most others on the planet, and a sporting personality who everyone loves to watch.

Even the best get it wrong sometimes though, and sadly, Travis is not excluded from that simple fact of life.

The American became the first man to ever stomp a double moto backflip back at the X-Games in 2006. When he tried the stunt again at a live Nitro Circus show last weekend though, for the first time in four years, it didn’t exactly go to plan.

Side by side with Josh Sheeny – the Pastrana protégé gearing up to take on the first ever moto triple flip later this year – Travis went for a big double backflip, but overrated the stunt and became victim to one hell of a gnarly crash.

Thankfully, the landing was padded, and Travis, being Travis, was absolutely fine despite landing on his back.

Instead of taking a trip to the hospital then, he decided he’d jump up with a burst of super stoke, go hug Mr. Sheeny, and then start running round the stadium giving the Australian fans high fives.

What happened next, though, was even more, well, Pastran-ish. Rather than sitting the rest of the event out, Travis decided he’d nick a mountain bike off one of the Nitro team, climb up to the drop in and then try and stomp a front flip at the very first attempt .

Best thing about it? He absolutely nailed it. And the legend of Travis Pastrana continues…
