Zumba | Where Are The Best Zumba Classes In London?

Fed up of paying a fortune for an unused gym membership? We've found the best Zumba fitness Classes in London for as little as £9...

The great thing about Zumba is that most of the time, you can find a class that is available for a one off payment, which means that you don’t need to be tied down to any kind of restrictive gym membership that you find you never use.

It is also not a highly skilled sport like skiing or rock climbing that takes months or years of training and commitment to master. However at the same time it allows you to learn new moves, make a new bunch of friends and work on your fitness.  There are numerous locations across London that offer Zumba classes for a whole range of abilities and here are our top 5…

 

Zumba Fitness London 

Zumba Fitness London probably has the largest selection of Zumba classes that offer a range of different payment options to suit everyone. From ‘The Newbie’ pass which gives you 30 days unlimited classes for £25, to the ‘Unlimited Membership’ which is £35, but gives you a whole month of unlimited classes. There is also a pay as you go option for those who simply want to try out a new class for £9 a time.

The timetable is packed with classes that run regularly across the different locations weekday evenings and from 9.30am on a Saturday.

The classes are based over 9 different locations across London:

SE1 7AA- Waterloo Action Centre is located right next to Waterloo station but does not have showers or changing rooms, so it is advised to arrive ready to go!

WC1B 3NQ- Central YMCA Club is a gym and sports centre that uses party lights and a disco ball to get you in the shimmying spirit. It also has a large swimming pool as well as brand new changing rooms and showers.

EC1Y 0RN- Class Base is another community centre that is only 2 minutes from Barbican tube station. It has a stage mats and mirrors so is ideal for Zumba classes.

EC1V 7AH- Urdang 2 dance academy has state of the art studio facilities and is located only minutes away from he Old Finsbury Town Hall in Islington.

W1H 5YZ- Sylvia Young’s theatre school is equip with changing rooms and toilets, simply ask at reception.

W1H 5TJ- Seymour Leisure Centre is a huge area with mats and mirrors included, there are also changing rooms and showers. Classes are held in studio 1.

SE1 0NQ- The Bridge Fitness and Wellbeing Centre is a WOMEN ONLY venue with luxurious showers and bright changing facilities.

W1K 6TN- Danceworks Studios are only a few minutes walk from Bond Street tube station. They also sport high ceilings and are full of natural light.

SE1 7BE- Living Space community centre is a short 3-minute walk from Waterloo station but has no changing facilities, only toilets, so arrive ready to sweat.

London Live Fitness

These offer a very similar class plan and actually runs at some of the same locations as Zumba London.

It runs with the This Girl Can campaign that aims to celebrate active women up and down the country who are doing their own exercise thing and making it work. It runs a range of classes including 90’s Hip Hop Dance Fitness, Zumba, Boot Camp and HIIT classes, which can all be booked online.

Go Mammoth

The UK’s largest social sports and fitness club is designed for busy and active adults who are looking to maximise their spare time through playing sport and keeping fit.

It was also rated best Zumba class in London for its Wednesday class in Clapham. One of its top aims is ‘To unplug and release people from their over-engineered, over-evolved lives to more authentic, simpler times…’

It offers a no contract plan from only £3 a class, taught by accredited instructors and with all equipment provided. It is also rated 9.4 out of 10 from participant reviews on Trust Pilot.

Zumba Riot

Zumba Riot offer a recommended ‘Party Plus’ plan that allows you to attend 1 class per week with additional classes just £2 and they also have bonuses for new members.  They offer evening Zumba classes throughout the week in Ealing, Chiswick and Great Portland Street. The classes are big and have a great electric atmosphere, so this one feels like a real party.

YMCA Club

The YMCA Club is the largest gym facility in central London and is part of the world’s founding YMCA, central YMCA and the leading health and fitness charity. It offers a large range of dance fitness classes from Zumba, Barre Conditioning and Belly dancing which are open to all levels. Memberships are required to attend these classes, which are not cheap at around £60, however they do have discounted offers for students or off-peak members.

The membership does cover full access to the club, which includes all of the exercise classes, access to the 25m swimming pool, sauna and steam room. You can also claim a free day pass to the club so that you can try out the facilities before committing to the hefty monthly sum. For those dedicated to fitness and well being the YMCA club also have personal trainers and nutritionists available by appointment.

The club is located in the heart of the West End central to bus links and tube lines, with the nearest station being Tottenham Court Road.
