National Geographic Just Released The 50 Best Photos Of 2016 – And They’re Seriously Amazing

These are some of the most powerful images you'll ever see....

If there is one thing that National Geographic is known for above all else, it’s the wonderful photographs that it produces each and every year.

Every time a shortlist of photographs is released by the magazine at the end of a year, we know that we’re in for a treat, and this year is no exception.

These 52 photographs were produced by 91 photographers and curated from almost 2,300,000 photos. The ones that have made the cut are completely awe inspiring.

From an insight into our animal kingdom, to a stolen moment, to a statement on modern society, these images sum up our planet at a very strange time in history. Enjoy.
