People Who Travel The World Look Younger And Have More Sex, Says New Study

As if we weren't jealous enough of those friends on Facebook....

Travelling the world and having adventures is a whole bunch of fun, you don’t need us to tell you that.

It seems however, that as well as being a good laugh and a great way to make your Facebook friends jealous, it might also be good for your health, according to a big old survey conducted by Experia this month.

The recent survey found that over 80 per cent of the people it polled claimed that travelling made them more healthy, slimmer and more confident, plus – and here’s the clincher – more likely to get down and dirty regularly.

When you travel, you break away from your daily routine and are more likely to spend long periods of time in the sun and fresh air, as well as being more likely to take part in bursts of physical activity, making you less likely to be stressed and more likely to feel happy and attractive.

“Exposure to a healthy amount of sunshine is also believed to increase the brain’s release of the hormone serotonin, which is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused” says Dr. Linda Papadopoulos, who assisted the company with the study.

“As stress and anxiety decreases, mood increases – bringing many, often unexpected, positive benefits in how we perceive ourselves, motivation and productivity, and our general outlook on life.”

The study also found that many participants found that travelling made them think more creatively, look younger and feel less anxious on a day to day basis.

We never really need an excuse to jump on a plane, but these seem like some pretty good ones to us!

So if you’re aiming to lose weight, become more productive or even just get lucky more often in 2016, it seems that booking a one way ticket somewhere unfamiliar might be the answer…
