The world’s largest coral reef should need no introduction, and though it may be a tourist hot bed at times, it’s one of the most famed areas on the planet for a very good reason.
Stretching for nearly 1,500 miles, the reef is composed of 2,900 individual reefs, incorporates some of the most beautiful beach and sea scenery in the world, and is home to wildlife ranging from endangered whales, dolphins and porpoises to stunning sea turtles, stingrays, sharks and even 215 species of bird.
