Formed in 1978, by George Powell and Stacy Peralta, this brand came to define skating for a decade and form the template for all brands to come. The first masterstroke was forming the Bones Brigade, a team of the best skateboarders of the era, and then producing a series of videos that changed they way people saw skating.

The art style, with its defining skeleton motif, was also crucial as Powell Peralta became the most popular skateboarding company of the 1980s. Peralta left in 1992, and the company floundered, but its legacy lives on.
