Mountain Biking

Watch The Crazy Steep BC Mountain Bike Lines Currently Breaking The Internet

Are these the steepest lines in British Columbia? Could you stay on your bike?

There’s something special in the water over in British Columbia, and the more we watch mountain bikers, skiers and snowboarders do their thing over there, the more we’re inclined to think that it’s beer.

After all, what else could lead these people to charge so fast and furiously – too fast for y’all – down such gnarly mountains with absolutely no regard for their own personal safety? Remy Metailler is downright scary fast around Whistler and has shown that there’s no end to the steepness in the MTB. Red Bull Rampage has proven that seemingly no line is off the cards on a mountain.

Why do they do this? Beer. It’s got to be beer. And the fact they love mountain biking and are absolutely sick at it and their endless talents make us endlessly jealous, of course. That too. But we’re also calling beer. Certainly in the case of the video below.

There are lines like this one in Pemberton dotted all over British Columbia apparently. These are the kind of lines you think “man i’ll look cool riding that” and then set off on at 3mph, hands forever on the breaks, bike jumping slowly, bit by bit over rocks until you catch on a branch and tomahawk down the rest of the hill. But Kenny Smith, Alex Pro and friends manage to ride them.

Anyway, without further ado, here are some horribly steep lines in the backcountry of the home of maple bacon. Reckon you could make your way to the bottom without falling off the bike? If Kenny Smith is struggling on them, we’re thinking not…
