Enduro World Series 2014: TweedLove World Preview

Are these Scottish trails the hardest yet?

It’s the very first time our bonny island has been host to the Enduro World Series, so needless to say we’re pretty stoked to see what goes down this weekend at round two.

It’s held up in Peebles, Scotland near the border of England as part of the TweedLove Festival, a generally enjoyable two weeks of biking and revelling!

So, what do we have to look forward to?

Well, the athletes are certainly going to be put through their paces on some of the toughest trails in the world here in Scotland.

There’s eight stages in total spread over two days. The riders will cover 87km of ground including 2,900m of climbing – so it’s definitely going to be a proper leg burner and guaranteed sort the wheat from the chaff!

In fact, there’s talk around the Twitter-verse of the track being too hard! Debate is raging on the Singletrack forum. You can read what they have to say here.

This is the deceptively mellow start to stage 2…

There’s 600 riders signed up to the event this weekend, including 14 current and ex-World Champions.

Jérôme Clementz is out of the running after he suffered a bad shoulder injury at the French Enduro Cup earlier this month that looks set to keep him out for the rest of the season.

Our friends over at Dirt Magazine have got their eye on Jared Graves as the man to beat, while in the women’s Anne Caroline Chausson is looking strong for a second win after her victory in Chile.

And the weather?

After the rain we had earlier this week, it’s not looking too bad! We all know the British Isles aren’t exactly known for having predictable weather patterns. So the riders may be in for a muddy ride, but it’s still guaranteed to be a damn good watch!

GOOD NEWS! If you’re in the area, you can go down at watch the action unfold absolutely FREE! Not to be missed if you’re an avid Enduro lover.
