Prince Harry To Head To Africa In A Bid To Save The Endangered Black Rhino

He's ginger, he's fifth in line to the throne, and he's going to Namibia.

After his recent comments about bringing back National Service went down like a tonne of human shit at a toddler’s birthday party, it’s fair to say that Prince Harry’s public relations could do with a shot in the arm.

And, fair play to him, if there’s one thing that everyone can get on board with it’s conservation projects aiming to prevent the total extinction of endangered Black Rhinos.

This summer, everyone’s favourite ginger-royal will be going to Namibia to help with the efforts of the Save The Rhino Trust. His volunteer work will cover a wide range of bases, with a primary focus on protecting the rhinos and elephants that are native to the region.

In comments made to The Daily Mail, ‘Hazza’ had this to say about the work he’d be doing: “…tracking poachers, jumping on a vehicle early in the morning, darting elephants, darting lions. It’s going to be amazing.”

It certainly does sound like an amazing experience, Harry. We’re particularly enjoying how excited you seem about darting things. Just be careful with that dart gun, OK?

Black Rhinos are currently on the critically-endangered list. We’re not sure how familiar you are with all the lists that are out there, but this one is pretty much the worst one you can be on.

The global population of the species currently stands at less than 5,000. Of course it’s easy to snigger at a member of the elite going over to “..do his bit” but, in this particular instance, we think anything that can bring a media spotlight onto the plight of animals that are standing on the brink of extinction is most definitely a good thing.
