Here we have BMX team DUB’s edit for the 2014 Ride To Glory tour. These Liverpool lads were determined to bag the title this year, so all of them put in some absolutely smoking performances. There’s a tonne of crazy rail slides, a few nasty stacks, and a what looks like a pretty close call with the boys in blue.
The tour has been going from strength to strength since it began 2008, and 2014 was the best year yet. Competing alongside DUB were Hoffman, Wethepeople, Odyssey, and 2013 winners Premium. In total there were twenty five riders across five teams, all absolutely smashing it throughout the five week contest to get their grubby mitts on the £2,000 prize money.
To win, teams had to complete various oddball challenges set by the organisers, including ‘drop a 5 stair bare footed’, ‘sticker a security guard’, and the perilous ‘manual with no front wheel’. After that, each team submitted a compilation of their best tricks from throughout the contest to be put to a public vote. BMX fans are not easily impressed, so all the teams needed to bring their A game to the table for a shot at walking away with the cash.
Competition was fierce, with each of the five teams pushing their skills to the absolute limit. Despite a valiant effort from Hoffman, who had recently added several team members but still managed to pull it together brilliantly, Wethepeople were the ones to beat. Unfortunately for the DUB guys, who came in a close second after winning in the video votes, Wethepeople’s mix of beer bongs and high jinx proved just too popular with the public and they won overall. Them’s the breaks, lads. Better luck next year!
