Take a bow James ‘Woodsy’ Woods. Take a bow. Not only have you just won the first slopestyle skiing World Cup event of the season, you did it by being the only competitor to score over 90 points. Oh, and you’re British. Team GB! Team GB! Team GB!

The 23-year-old from Sheffield was competing in Cardrona, New Zealand. His best score of 93.40 was enough to see him finish above Norwegian Øystein Braaten (89.80) and American Joss Christensen (87.20). Earlier this month, Woods won the New Zealand Freeski Open (making this a really great a month for the Brit).

Mammoth, in California, will host the second of the five World Cup events in January. After that, the slopestyle skiing train hits Utah, South Korea, and Switzerland. Here’s hoping can Woodsy carry on his impressive form and continue to show the world the growing strength of Britain’s snow sports team.
