Dogs are classic adventure companions. They are energetic, reliable and always keen for a good hike – but what about cats? No one ever mentions our feline friends – until Liz came along.
Liz Clark has spent the last ten years surfing and travelling the globe on her 40 foot boat with her cat Amelia (the tropicat).
The 34 year-old from San Diego, California describes herself as a “she-pirate”, travelling all over Mexico, Central America and the South Pacific on a quest to find a more environmentally friendly way of living.
She lives by solar and wind power, takes part in local environmental projects, gives presentations on conservation in schools and inspire others to live out their adventures.
She’s covered 25,000 nautical miles and doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon.
Liz found Amelia when she was just 6 months old – and she’s travelled with her ever since. “She has adapted to living surrounded by water. She’s learned to trust that she will be safe with me,” she told Buzzfeed.
