Selfies have become a pretty big deal over the last couple of years. Aside from taking pictures of grim looking dinners, they are possibly the most popular method of self expression on Instagram. Indeed, they’ve got so popular that ‘selfie’ was even named ‘Word of the Year 2013‘.

Most of the selfies we see are of celebrities, most of whom you’re not altogether sure of why they are famous. However, largely thanks to GoPros, action sports stars are getting in on the act.
