The Scarpa F1 LT was the lovechild of the Scarpa F1 and Alien RS. Scarpa locked these two ski touring boots in a room together and told them to get it on. The product? The F1 LT blew us away with its blend of performance in an extremely lightweight package that toured like a dream. Now, for 2021, Scarpa is bringing this exceptional performance in a women’s-specific fit in the all-new Scarpa F1 LT WMN.

Scarpa F1 LT WMN Build

If the Scarpa F1 LT is a new name to you, let us give you a rundown of the features this boot has taken from both the Alien RS and F1. First up is the smattering of shell reinforcement, taken from the F1 that’s said to improve stiffness by up to 30%. This shell reinforcement works in conjunction with the carbon-infused Grilamid shell to provide lightweight power on the downhill.

Buckling down the lower can be made by a simple, yet effective, BOA closure system which sits on top of a waterproof gaiter to help keep any unwanted snow and ice away from your liners.

On the cuff, you’ve got a thin booster strap at the top of your boot and the same ski / walk lever that’s been borrowed from the Alien RS. The main cuff buckle, which is the same that found on the F1, is made from a velcro-adjustable fabric that can be buckled down for ski mode, or flipped up for easy ski transitions.

When you flip the ski / walk mode leaver, you’re treated to 72 degrees of one of the finest walk modes we’ve ever experienced on a ski boot. And, when the skis come off for technical climbs and scrambles, a durable Vibram outsole will help you remain gripped on the rock and ice.

Scarpa F1 LT WMN Fit

As we’ve mentioned, Scarpa has taken the classic F1 LT boot and applied it to a women’s-specific fit, including smaller mondopoint sizes. The toebox remains slightly wider for all-day comfort, while your foot sits lower in the shell to help give you a little more control.

Speaking about control, Scarpa claims that these boots will be capable of driving skis up to 100 mm wide. But, similar to how the Alien RS was suitable with skis up to 90 mm wide, we would bet that proficient skiers could handle wider touring skis in the right conditions without bother.

Who Is The Scarpa F1 LT WMN For?

This is quite simple really: if you’ve previously wished that the original F1 LT was available in a women’s size, then this boot is going to be the right touring boot for you. We’re big, big fans of the blend of performance and weight that Scarpa has struck with the F1 LT series, and we’re stoked to see this design applied to a women’s shape.

What Is The Scarpa F1 LT WMN Good At?
