The start to the video below is very odd. It’s Australian dude Ashley Dawson bizarrely smiling at a GoPro, first at arm’s length and then on his handlebars, with a bit of slow-motion chucked in there and a some truly odd filtering.
What’s even stranger is that the dude has seen fit to set the video to ‘Would?’ by grunge-metal band Alice in Chains. In case you’ve not heard of the song, it’s a famous 1992 release concerning the heroin-related death of Andrew Wood, the former lead singer of Mother Love Bone.
What the video shows, rather contrastingly, is an apparently overly-dramatic cyclist getting attacked by a magpie in northern Victoria down under – an interesting watch, yes, but one which may have been a little bit over edited.
Ashley’s next video, “Tuna Fish Slaps Surfer in Face” is expected to drop next month. It will be soundtracked by Pink Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb’ and feature vintage filters.
