Have a look at the fifth instalment of DC Snowboarding’s Underline series, featuring the some of the most radical moments from Norwegian Torstein Horgmo’s filming for the company during 2014.
Ever since he cottoned on to where the real fun was happening on the slopes as a pre-teen, and switched from skiing to snowboarding, Torstein has been building a reputation as an one of the sport’s true innovators. He’s also known as something of a hell-raiser on the social scene, and when he isn’t out with friends surfing, skating, or even playing a few rounds of golf, he can often be found manning the DJ decks.
With over a decade of competitive snowboarding now under his belt, Torstein is operating at the very highest level, with a trophy shelf boasting of podium places from the Winter X Games, the WST Burton Global Open Series, and the Arctic Challenge. He’s also a fixture in the best tours, appearing in both the World Snowboard Tour and the Dew Tour.
More importantly for us right now, he’s also made quite a name for himself in the world of snowboarding film-making. Working with top production team Standard Films and for DC Snowboarding, he’s constantly raising the bar with incredible snowboarding captured in the most compelling fashion. He can now count a whole series of classics to his name, including Shred Bots the Movie, Horgasm: A Love Story and Black Winter.
This video showcases Torstein’s exceptional ability to incorporate flawless flips and corkscrews into enormous jumps, all the while travelling at lightning-fast speeds. It may be just one side to this man’s talent, but it certainly makes for electrifying viewing.
