Ever Wondered How To Skateboard On GTA V? These Guys Have Cracked It
Programmers have built a patch that lets gamers skateboard around Los Santos
Everybody - and we do mean everybody - loves the Skate, video game franchise that EA used to make. Fictional scientists have proved that every 37th comment posted online anywhere is "When will skate 4 be released?".
Never. It's not going to happen. Ever. Get over it.
But that's a conversation for another time. Back to the plot: Skate is incredible. Also on the incredible list is Grand Theft Auto V. It's a banger. There's a reason it grossed $1billion (yes, BILLION!) on the first weekend it was on sale.
"But Mpora, you foul smelling guinea pig," we hear you cry, "these games are so different! Surely they'll never form some kind of unlikely union". We thought so too. Ever since Grand Theft Auto San Adreas (the greatest of all the GTA franchise, if you ask us) you've been able to jam around on a BMX, hitting up the skateparks so lovingly built into the world, but how about skateboarding?
Luckily, some stunt-wood loving nerd has hacked the code of the PC version of GTA V, and developed a patch that lets you legitimately skateboard around. Granted, it's not quite fully up to the shredding standards of the Skate franchise yet, but it's one hell of a leap in the right direction. It's certainly got our R2 button tingling.
The commentary on this video is in Spanish, and because we spent more time staring out of the window instead of listening in school, our vocabulario español isn't quite what it should be. We know there's some tasty language in this that we don't approve of, and there could well be a heck of a lot more, so apologies in advance.
So, turn the sound down, skip to 2.36 in, and enjoy.
