For some reason, people seem to like the idea of taking the humble snowboard and adapting it in some way to make it something else. More often than not, this involves gluing a bunch of LEDs to it and making something that looks like it belongs in a Daft Punk induced nightmare.
However, the guys at Signal Snowboards have a habit of doing crazy stuff with boards that, dare we say, is actually pretty rad. Useless, but rad.
Their latest creation is a snowboard that doubles as a music controller that changes the music you’re listening to as the way you’re shredding changes. Pointless? Maybe. Brilliant? Definitely.
The board, packed with all sorts of tech gizmos, is ideal for freestyle riding, as it’s an Aphex Twin Tip. The smart thing though, is that it lets you switch between Jibbi Henrix and Nollie Murs in your headphones depending on whether you’re riding regular or switch.
As such, it means that there’ll be no more fiddling around, trying to change your mp3 player with massive mitts on. It’s unconfirmed whether or not some bad german metal automatically plays if you Scorpion.
