Avalanches Killed 75 People In Europe Last Year. Watch This Video – It Might Save Your Life

Every skier and snowboarder should watch this movie...

Avalanches are one of the biggest killers in the mountains.

Last season Europe had the highest number of avalanche deaths in five years. 75 people died with 44 in France and Switzerland.

Hundreds of thousands of Brits head to the mountains each year. Every single one of them that heads off-piste should have some basic avalanche safety training.

This year, Utah Avalanche Centre have teamed up with rider Jeremy Jones, Travis Rice, Jimmy Chin and Chris Davenport have teamed up to make this new campaign called Know Before You Go.

The idea is the more information people have about avalanche safety, the more lives that could potentially be saved. You can also read our guide to avalanche safety here.

Tree wells are another major danger when you are skiing or snowboarding. Make sure you’re clued up on what to do if you get caught in a tree well by reading our handy guide here.

If you’re heading to the mountains this year, make sure you watch the video below. It could just help save yours (or someone else’s) life.
