There are some real muppets out there. This fella tried to climb the 4,006ft Aonach Mor in Lochaber near Fort William – because he’d never seen snow before!
He was one of three walkers that took the gondola up on Wednesday to check out the remaining snow on the Goose area of the mountain.
“Well he had never seen snow before so why not give it a go in yer bare feet and sandals!!!”
He slipped while walking, injuring his ankle. The Lochaber Mountain Rescue was called out to rescue him.
It’s said the rescue team found them 20 minutes from the top of the gondola, where they stretchered the man off the mountain.
“One of our team members, John Macrae, actually hurled one of the flips-flops and told the guy ‘that’s how much use they are on the hill!” rescue team leader John Stevenson told the Daily Mail.
After the event, the team posted these photos of the unfortunate victim on their Facebook page, saying “well he had never seen snow before so why not give it a go in yer bare feet and sandals!!!”
Responses to the injured man have been mixed. One Facebook user said: “Idiots like that shud be charged for the call out”, while another said: “Just please tell me they weren’t Americans”.
