We posted a video of a man in South Africa having his mountain bike stolen by a man at gunpoint this morning.

We thought that was pretty gnarly, but then one reader sent us this:

It was filmed in Sao Paulo, in Brazil, last year and it’s dramatic as hell! It’s crazy enough that someone would try such a brazen motorbike robbery in broad daylight, but what happens next is just insane!

Apparently the dude doing the shooting is an undercover cop, and according to LiveLeak the robber, Leonardo Escarante survived the incident: “He was hit twice, one time in the abdomen and one in the leg, he is in good health condition.”

But how mental is Sao Paulo? Not only can you have your bike nicked from under you in broad daylight, but the cops can dish out Judge Dredd-style justice at the barrel of a gun just like that!
