When the dinosaurs died-off in the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction over 65.5 million years ago, rumour has it they were remarkably calm as they went. A shadowy figure appeared to them before they disappeared and told them that everything was going to be alright. A brighter future was coming.
Legend tells of the same story occurring with the Ordovician-Silurian mass extinction 443 million years ago, the Permian mass extinction 248 million years ago, to the inventor of Google Plus just after his new site went live in 2011, and indeed during that tube strike that forced gruesome Londoners back above ground the other week.
Well, we can confirm that the shadowy figure featured in these legends was actually none other than Canadian mountain bike overlord Brandon Semenuk.
What did he say when he appeared to the doomed? He didn’t actually say anything. He just showed them this, his unbearably beautiful one-shot segment from unReal, and they knew they could die happy. Does mountain biking get any better than this?
