NoToBo, the new full length film from the Helgasons has dropped, and it’s every bit as ball-bruisingly insane as you’d expect.
Within the first 40 seconds, there’s knowingly horrific acting, helicopters, explosions, missiles, and one of the most bone-jaring roof gaps ever committed to film. 10 seconds after that, there are prams, toilets, and skis all ablaze.
This sets the tone for almost 30 minutes of gloriously dumb snowboarding. What else would you expect from Halldor and Eiki? The Brothers H are joined by long term conspirators Sage Kotsenburg (in particularly stylish form), Ethan Morgan, Felix Engstrom, Gulli Gudmundsson, and more.
And, as with every full film the crew put out, there’s an open section, jam-packed with sick lines and vom-inducing slams that have been sent to the guys by members of the public.
This gives the impression that brothers are dedicated to creating a punk rock feeling, where anybody with enough bottle, and the will to put themselves out there, can end up in the lime light.
More than any other film we’ve seen this season, it makes us think that anything is possible. That it doesn’t matter if we haven’t got a 1660 flat spin in the locker.
NoToBo reinforces that snowboarding is about two things; sending it, and enjoying what ever happens after that. And that’s kind of perfect.
