Oakley Serve Up A Pair Of Sunglasses That Every Skateboarder Will Want To Own

These ingenious new sunglasses are a skateboarders dream

Since they were invented by Elton John back in the early 1830’s, there has been little in the way of innovation for sunglasses. Granted, styles change, with aviators and wayfarers seemingly on endless repeat, along with a hand full of other styles. But when it comes to actual inventiveness for sunnies, there hasn’t been much to shout about.

However, legendary skater Eric Koston and renowned photographer Atiba Jefferson put their heads together, chatted to eyewear giants Oakley, and came up with the Latch.

The concept is simple, but effective: when you’re out skating, snowboarding, or generally flailing around with your sunglasses hooked into your clothes, it’s all too easy for them to fling off. Depending on how much you forked out, this is either annoying or borderline bankrupting.

However, The Latch are a pair of sun glasses that feature a small clip that attaches your shades to your clothes securely, meaning that a days skating doesn’t have to mean an afternoon going sun-blind.

If the concept seems simple, that’s because it is. We’re just amazed nobody has ever thought of it before. And, of course, with the Oakley stamp on them, you know you’re in for a good looking pair of shades.
