The First Ever Attempt To Skydive From 25,000ft… Without A Parachute

He worked on Red Bull Stratos, but now Luke Aikins is making history of his own...

Ever heard of Luke Aikins before? We’d be surprised if you had, but you’ve probably heard about a lot of the projects he’s worked on.

A professional skydiver with more than two decades of experience, Luke has jumped more than 16,000 times, helped prepare Felix Baumgartner for his famous drop from the stratosphere, and been part of numerous innovations in the world of wingsuiting.

For his next trick? The daredevil will be jumping from 25,000ft live on television… without a parachute.

Bullshit, I hear you call, but alas, we aren’t joking. Luke will be jumping without a parachute or a wingsuit, and will be relying on a “one-hundred by one-hundred deceleration net” to save his life.

Of course, Travis Pastrana once famously jumped from a plane without a parachute, but he had fellow skydivers around to guide him down, something Luke will not have the luxury of.

Will this be as big as Red Bull Stratos was at the time? Probably not, unless a whole lot more marketing goes into it first, but it’s sure as hell as dangerous if not moreso, and it’s certainly the first of its kind.
