Show me a Bryan that’s done something worthy of a note, and I’ll show you my doubt-filled face. Sure, if you like poodle-topped guitarists, there’s Brian May but his name is spelt with an ‘i’ instead of a ‘y’. So, he doesn’t count.
Ok, so there’s Bryan Ferry from Roxy Music, Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad, and, unfortunately for anyone with ears, Bryan Adams. You know what, let’s just stop talking about the Bryans. What are the Bryans up to? What are the Bryans thinking? Blah, blah, Bryan. Nobody cares, Bryan.
Instead of talking about the Bryans, let’s discuss this incredible travel video (see below). Filmed over the course of a year, it’s eight minutes and sixteen seconds of pure worldliness. The film, itself, is called ‘The Life Of Bryan’ (Monty Python are presumably furious).
Annoyingly, for people with an unexplainable grudge against the Bryans of this world, the film in question was made by a young Irish man called Bryan Greig. Damn you, Bryan Greig. Damn you for having such a nice advenuture, making such a nice film, and for being called Bryan.
Bryan, who originates from County Down, told news sources that he’s a “regular guy with an irregular lifestyle.” That might be one of those sentences that make your insides curl up like a bag of extra-curvy Quavers, but try not to let it detract from the video itself.
Watching this sort of thing, it’s easy to be overcome with a sense of jealousy; that, in turn, transforms itself into general annoyance.
How dare this man, called Bryan, have a fun time? How dare he go off and explore the world, while I’m sat here at my desk? Come on Bryan, have you not thought about the wider implications of this video?
People are going to be ditching their jobs all over the place, packing their bags and going off on unplanned adventures. The global economies will collapse, and it will be your fault Bryan. Your film is giving everyone, including us, an intense feeling of wanderlust.
