Remember that time you, and your friends, chundered all over the rusty climbing frame in the local park? Chundered because you pilfered too much booze from your parent’s drinking cabinet, and because you were a teenager with a low alcohol threshold. Well, this obstacle course is even sicker than that one; the one you were sick on.
Inspired by the popular Japanese TV show Ninja Warrior (Sasuke), this parkourer’s wet dream is called the Urban Ninja Obstacle Course. It’s coming to London, at the start of May, and will be open to members of the public (that means you – hoorah!).
For the princely sum of £40 you can dress up like someone from the Tenchu videogames and climb all over this thing to your heart’s content (or until you hurt yourself/run over the alloted two hour time slot). Dressing up like someone from the Tenchu videogames is, of course, entirely optional.
There’s no mud on the course, no running either, just obstacles; nothing but awesome obstacles. While we’re on the subject of the obstacles, each segment of this course is packing a name so cool you could use them to chill your beers. ‘Flying Squirrel’, ‘It Is Vertical’, and ‘Insane Pipe Scrambler’; to name but a few.
In case you were sat there, self-deprecating on yourself, and thinking “…oh no Mpora, my name is Howard McSensible and there’s no way I could tackle something like this”, fear not because there’s also a beginner’s course. From what we’ve seen, the beginner’s course looks a little less intense (although, no less fun).
We can’t stress enough how excited we are by this. If you’d like to find out more about the Urban Ninja Obstacle Course, and their upcoming events, click here.
