We’ve seen handheld footage like this before and, such is the nature of the internet, a lot of these videos have turned out to be works of total fiction. Interestingly, and perhaps rather tellingly, the Dutch authorities say that they received no report of the incident and that a fall from this height would almost certainly have resulted in death for the skater involved.

I mean, let’s look at it again for a second. Let’s look at it with our eyeballs, and our novelty magnifying glasses, and our binoculars, and our night-vision goggles if needs be. Everything about this seems completely and utterly preposterous, doesn’t it?

Of course if this is actually legitimate, and we’ve convinced ourselves it isn’t, please feel free to put us cynical turnips back in our place and accept our heartfelt apologies. It just seems a little bit too outlandish, a little bit ridiculous; a little bit like a thing that didn’t actually happen. What do you think?
