Ride To Glory 2014 – Wethepeople

The Ride To Glory tour has been going since 2008 and in 2014 it was bigger and better than ever. The teams competing were Hoffman, Wethepeople, Odyssey, DUB and 2013 winners Premium. Five weeks, five teams and twenty five riders causing mayhem across the UK, all determined to get their hands on the £2,000 prize money.

The organizers set various weird and wonderful challenges along the lines of ‘serve a customer in an independent bike shop’, ‘do a 360 on a bike which is not a BMX’ or ‘split the atom in a secure nuclear facility’ (OK, we made that last one up). But it didn’t end there. Each team had to submit a video ‘edit’ of their sickest tricks from the tour, a compilation of which was made available to the public who were invited to vote for their favourites.

It is that very same compilation which we present to you here, in all its gory glory. ‘Gory’ might be pushing it slightly, but there is a bit of blood, plus some other bodily fluids which we won’t go into in too much detail about in case you’re trying to eat your dinner.

Anyway, competition was hot, with each of the five teams taking part pushing their skills to the absolute limit. Despite a valiant effort from Hoffman, who had recently added several team members and truly went at it with all guns blazing, Wethepeople were the ones to beat. Sadly for the rest of the teams, their mix of beer bongs and high jinx proved just too popular with the public and they won overall, after leading convincingly in the challenge points and coming a close second to DUB in the video votes. Never mind though, there’s always next year!
