Clever, clever, clever. The Stanley Mountain Vacuum Coffee System is a brilliant piece of kit. On expeditions, the enjoyment of a luxury is heightened ten-fold. Most outdoor lovers have one, a luxury that they’ll always make room for in their backpack, whether it’s a piece of Kendal Mint Cake, a portable speaker or a even sneaky hip flask full of whisky. Proper coffee – and the tools to make it properly – is ours.
Stanley are of course famous for their pretty much indestructible flasks (it should also be said they make the best commuter mug, and we’ve tried many). It’s also a company that breathes authenticity. The heritage dates back to 1913 when William Stanley Jr fused vacuum insulation and the strength of steel in one bottle.
“This is a piece of luxury that will quickly become an almost essential item.”
We always seem to have a Stanley item of some sort with us. So when the Mountain Vacuum Coffee System appeared we had to have one – and it’s a thoroughly enjoyable experience making a coffee. Why so good? Well, this tidy flask actually has many parts, all well considered, and neatly fitting.
