César Aguzzoli, a 26-year-old Brazilian now living in San Diego, has officially graduated from Jedi University with a first-class honours degree in ‘Turning Old Camper Vans Into Much-Loved Characters From The Star Wars Franchise.’
Before you cut us in half with a double-ended light sabre ( à la Darth Maul), we’re aware that the Jedi University isn’t a real educational institute. That being said, after seeing Aguzzoli’s work on a 1992 Volkswagen Camper, we feel that it should be.
“The force is strong in this one, the force is strong.”
Inspired to start the project after indulging himself in a full-on Star Wars marathon, with some friends who presumably like Star Wars, Aguzzoli spent over 50 hours of his life designing the vinyl wrap that would transform his family’s van into a drivable R2-D2.
“R2-D2’s body is a cylinder, so our initial idea was to unroll the cylinder and wrap the bus with that pattern. But it ended up not becoming one with the force, so we chose the hard way and decided to re-imagine and recreate the layout specifically to fit the van,” Aguzzoli has revealed.
The only thing left for us to do, apart from show you some photos of this cool van, is to doff our Darth Vader helmets in Aguzzoli’s direction. The force is strong in this one, the force is strong.
