Our latest issue is all about the challenge. Whether that’s the challenge of trying a familiar sport in an unfamiliar place – like Dan Milner who rode his mountain bike on an epic Ultramarathon course in Gran Canaria – or the challenge of trying something completely ‘new’ – like the 80s throwback sport of monoskiing.
We talk to the resort residents in the small ski town of La Grave, France, who challenged the status quo by bidding to run the resort themselves rather than sell it to a big company, and look at the challenge of finding good snow in popular spots.
Finally we talk to people who’ve faced incredible adversity and risen to the challenge. There’s the quadruple amputee who went on to climb some of the world’s most famous mountains, and perhaps most shockingly of all the story of the brave women trying to carve out a professional cycling career in Rwanda and across Africa, battling entrenched chauvinism every step of the way.
These stories and more will be dropping throughout February and March.
