You don’t expect a midlayer to garner much excitement, but this one did on the Outdoor 100 photoshoot – everyone wanted one. Why? Well, even before putting it on, it feels so satisfyingly soft and cosy.
It is made from Polartec’s Power Wool, a pretty new material, that very cleverly combines merino and synthetic layers, taking the best advantages of merino (warming and breathable when wet, odour resistance) and those of synthetic fabrics (maintaining shape when washed, fast drying, easy care).
It also wicks moisture away from the skin brilliantly thanks to its two-layer construction that has the natural wool against the skin and the synthetic layer on the outer. Not that you’d notice, the Powertherm is a very thin and lightweight garment that feels even more amazing once you put it on. It’s a snug fitting top with an equally cosy hood.
