Paramo Montero Technical Jeans | Review

The Montero technical jean from Paramo is great for city-livers who love the outdoors

If you often find yourself splitting time between the city and the great outdoors then you need gear that can keep up with you; gear that’s suited to both the mountains and the streets without making you look like you’re just off a farm when you find yourself on the latter.

The Paramo Montero technical jeans are custom-designed to give you the protection and comfort you need when you’re in action while still keeping you looking slick on your city commutes. They’re the perfect blend of urban style and sturdy mountain performance.

The Montero trousers have the classic jean look thanks to the Nikwax Windproof Denim from Paramo, and this same tech makes them incredibly water-repellent, much quicker to dry than your average pair of trousers, stretchy and able to offer UV protection. There’s a good chance that even if you buy these specifically for the outdoors, you’re going to end up wearing them pretty much everywhere you go thanks to all the little details that make them such a comfortable and practical wear.

“They’re perfect for city cycling, but tough enough to be equally at home when you’re mountain biking or hiking through mud.”

Subtle ventilation comes from hidden thigh vents lined with mesh and the trousers feature similarly discreet reflective detailing on the front and rear pockets and on the seam too. This means that you won’t get that horrible sweatbox feel you’d get with normal jeans or trousers in the same environment.

The Nikwax fabric is incredibly good at repelling moisture, so if things do get a bit rainy then fear not, you’re well-protected. The water will bead and get out of there. It’s comfortable on the skin and when you consider that it blocks this rain while also cutting out wind and UV rays, you really start to appreciate what an impressive piece of gear this is. Think how satisfying it would be to watch all your mates get covered in rain cycling across the city centre while you’re dry and comfy too?

Little details like the reflective seam on the hem of the trousers – visible when they’re rolled up – make them perfect for city cycling, but they’re tough enough to be equally at home when you’re mountain biking or hiking through mud. Versatile and comfortable, these are a great new piece of kit to add to your wardrobe.
