Christmas Gift Ideas for Mountain Bikers: 15 Great Gifts Every Rider Will Love

It’s that time of year again. The temperatures are dropping, there isn’t enough tea or coffee in the world, the streets are slippery, and you have to get a present for that special person in your life who insists that no matter what the conditions, he/she should still be on their mountain bike.

But where do you start looking for those gifts? The internet, obviously; the source of all knowledge, all cat photos and all outstanding gift ideas for the festive season ahead.

If you’re stuck for ideas for a mountain bike gift his Christmas, look no further. Here’s a selection of mixed-price items to get you started:

1) LifeLine Performance 700 Lumen Front Light, £40

The picture above may look like something out The Blair Witch project, but it was actually the result of a lovely late night – well, 6pm – night ride we had recently with the LifeLine performance light.

The days are getting dark now, which means it’s hard to fit in riding time outside of the weekend. If you want to ensure the mountain biker in your life can still do their thing this winter without splashing too much cash, this £40 option could be the gift for you.

It’s easy to mount, charges with a mini-USB cable, has various lighting modes which are very easy to flick through, and it can be used to both show you where to go and let you be seen on the roads.

You can get the LifeLine Performance 700-Lumen Front Light for £40 here at Wiggle.

2) 100% Accuri Goggles, £31.99

If the person you’re buying for is going to be getting dirty and splashing mud on a regular basis, a pair of goggles could prove a godsend for their visibility while riding.

Accuri Goggles very high quality, come at a very reasonable cost, and most importantly of all, they look badass. The six options above are just a fraction of the colours and designs available online. Check them out here on Chain Reaction Cycles, discounted to £31.99.

Mountain biking down a glacier. The day when MTB had it’s first ever powder day and dirt literally fell from the sky. The one-shot, four-minute greatest video segment in the history of mountain biking from Brandon Semenuk.

If you get this for the mountain biker in your life this Christmas, they will probably love you forever. Though, they may not talk to you until they’ve watched it three times.

You can check out the unReal DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack for $30 at Teton Gravity’s online shop, and find other options there too!

5) GoPro Hero 4 Silver, £250

There are so many different varieties of GoPro out there now – the GoPro Hero 4 shoots in 4k, the GoPro Session is ultra-small and shiny new, but we’d recommend if there’s one to go for this Christmas, it’s the Hero 4 Silver – which features an awesome touch screen on the back.

The touch screen means you can not only see what you’re taking a photo of, but watch back your trail footage in the cafe/bar after your ride.

You can now get the GoPro Hero 4 Silver for around £250 and under if you hunt hard enough.

6) WhackJob Bamboo Riding Jersey, £14-35

WhackJob are an awesome UK company that make ethically-sound, extra comfy clothes for running, climbing and biking. Our favourite thing about them? They use innovative materials to make their clothes – like bamboo!

The WhackJob Shore Limited Edition Jersey above, for example, is the world’s only bamboo-fibre mountain bike jersey, and only 30 of the riding jersey will ever be made. Of course, they’ve got plenty of other amazing and unique jerseys on sale on the WhackJob website as well.

The jersey was comfortable to ride in and did every job it was required to do, plus, you’ve got a new talking point as well! We’d also recommend checking out the company’s bamboo technical riding socks, for just £12.
