Close Call | Sam Blenkinsop Inches From Taking Out Lady in Middle of Downhill Trail

...and Brook Macdonald got the whole thing on camera

Trail hazards are a nuisance in mountain biking. They always will be. Whether it’s a dog, a horse, a rogue branch, or another rider not obeying the all important rules of trail etiquette, it can be quite the pain – and it can be dangerous.

Take this video that Brook Macdonald uploaded to Facebook over the weekend for example.

The footage shows Brook tailing Sam Blenkinsop at the second round of the New Zealand national champs. The two are absolutely slamming down the gnarly course, when right near the end a woman pops up in the middle of the trail.

Thankfully, Sam was able to break in time to avoid the misplaced lady, after audibly yelling out in panic for her to get off the trail, but it just goes to show that this kind of thing can be an issue no matter what level you’re competing at!
