If you’ve been watching Crankworx Rotorua for the past few days, we can’t imagine your house is the tidiest place right now.
We flipped the majority of the tables at Mpora HQ when the whip-off champs got going on Wednesday, and any still standing became victims of the stoke when (spoiler) Martin Soderstrom won the speed and style last night.
In fact, we’re currently writing this update from the floor of a room that looks like it’s been burgled, using three empty pizza boxes as a chair and a further four as a table, and there’s one guy in the corridor trying to gap the staircase in a stormtropper outfit.
We have no idea who he is or where he came from, but he’s probably not going to have much luck given that he’s using a wheely office chair instead of a mountain bike.
Anyway, with the downhill set to get going tonight, it’s hard to see these conditions improving in the next few days, but we’re absolutely fine with that. Crankworx New Zealand has been awesome so far, and if you’ve missed it, you’ve been missing out.
Luckily for you, Pinkbike and Captyvate Media have just released the official highlight videos from the Whip-Off Championships that kicked it all off and the Mons Royale Dual Speed and Style that followed yesterday, and there’s a full replay of the latter for anyone who’s particularly keen as well.
Seriously though, the whip off was wild and the speed and style was one of the best we’ve seen. Cam Zink taking on Kyle Strait in round one anyone? Don’t mind if we do…
